Black Furies

Claiming to be descendents of the Amazons out of Greek myth, the Black Furies can certainly live up to the reputation. Composed entirely of females, except for the few male metis that they allow to coexist with them. The Black Furies are, like their other Greek namesakes, the Furies, avengers and punishers, particularly of those who commit crimes against women. This, in particular, has brought them into conflict with the Get of Fenris many times. In addition, the Black Furies are self-appointed protectors, again of women, but also of the Wyld. They guard the most powerful caerns, the ones that still rest in lands unmapped by humanity, and they stand guard over many powerful fetishes, while other Furies search out undiscovered caerns and fetishes or take to the cities to protect women and children. Make no mistake; crossing a Fury is an oftentimes fatal mistake. ---------------- The Black Furies represent the game's version of an amazon-like society as they are a tribe of avenging and warrior-like (usually) female werewolves. In modern days Furies appear all over the world. Their tribal totem is Pegasus. While childbirth is considered a sacred act among the tribe, only females and male Metis descendants of Furies are accepted. Fertile sons and most Metis females are sent off to be adopted by other tribes (usually the Children of Gaia). Furies are strongly connected to the Wyld and shun the Wyrm and the Weaver's work, including pharmaceutical care and test-tube babies. In other words, creations of Man that mess with Mother Nature. In their defense of Gaia, most Furies seek out violators of the land and females, in general. Very few are adamant man-haters. The tribe is a fierce rival of the Get of Fenris, whom they view as nothing but a bunch of male chauvinists. Wiki Reference
